Horse Riding Camp in       Beautiful WNY

“The essential joy of being with a horse is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire” -      Sharon Ralls Lemon

      Horseback Riding Camp

Our horse riding camps feature the wonderful Rosebud Horses. Our string of 15- Riding Academy Horses are used in riding lessons year round by riders of all riding levels. We do not lease a "camp string". Many of our camp horses were born here. They have been proven in the arena, the show ring, and on trails to be reliable mounts. They are dependable and safe for our horse riding camps.

While the beautiful and versatile Morgan Horse is in the majority we also have our awesome ponies and our Paints. And riding camp wouldn’t be complete without Mimi; a mere 49 inches she enjoys working with the smaller riders.

A rider evaluation is performed at the start of each camp and the rider is matched with a horse to best complement their riding abilities and personalities. Riders are placed in riding groups by skill level and they are closely observed during each riding session. Beginner riders are attended by a hand-walker.

What do “Horse Crazy” kids Need to Succeed

A kid-safe horse that can teach them the horsey facts of life
A great family support system
Great riding teachers to inspire and to invigorate the rider to actively learn the system of riding.
The Rosebud horses are carefully chosen and trained to work with the young riding student. To keep them child safe, they need a daily routine to keep them healthy and happy. In addition to their training, they receive daily care that includes twice daily stall cleaning, feeding, watering and daily exercise. In addition, they receive yearly dental work, farrier work every 6 weeks, and chiropractic work as needed. We maintain a herd of over 15 horses to allow every student to ride a horse that has not been “worked into the ground” by several other riders each day. Tired horses exhibit many undesirable traits including refusals, bucking, and rearing.

Our amazing Summer Camp is open to all students, 7 to 16 years of age. The summer program is designed to be both fun and educational. A wide variety of
topics will be taught combining generous riding time with demonstrations, videos and hands on experience in horse management and care.

The camp is an excellent way for beginners to get to know horses because it offers "hands on" experience with grooming and handling sessions as well as
daily riding lessons. For experienced riders, the continuity of daily lessons and
the increased individual attention helps children progress even faster than in weekly horseback riding lessons.
